I'm a global consultant to industry, so I get to experience cuisines around the world. The variety and surprising flavors of these foods excite me, so I write about them on my blog. I enjoy photography, reading and writing (fiction and non-), building recipes, cooking, and training Golden Retrievers. In another life I was an International Master (correspondence) in chess.
My favorite foods are:
All Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, spicy curries, authentic chutneys; pretty much anything with a chile in it somewhere. I also enjoy experimenting with ethnic soups, bubbly casseroles and American classics. Many times I cook "on a wing and a prayer" but my wife's guardian angel intervenes and keeps us all from serious harm.
My favorite chefs/cooks are:
Alton Brown, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, Giada de Laurentiis, Ingrid Hoffmann, Michael Chiarello, Wolfgang Puck, Julia Child. I like some of the stuff Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee and Anthony Bourdain do.
